Bactigras Chlorhexidine Gauze Dressing 10cm x 10cm, 10 Foils
Bactigras Dressing consists of a cotton leno-weave fabric, impregnated with Soft Paraffin BP, containing 0.5% w/w Chlorhexidine Acetate BP. Chlorhexidine is an antimicrobial agent that is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria but inactive against spores, fungi, and viruses. It is more effective against gram-positive than gram-negative organisms, and some species of Pseudomonas and Proteus are of limited sensitivity. Bactigras Tulle Gras is presented as a gauze of leno weave impregnated with white soft paraffin BP containing 05% chlorhexidine acetate BP. The action of chlorhexidine acetate is both bacteriostatic and bactericidal. Chlorhexidine Acetate has been shown to be active, in vitro, against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria at concentrations of 10-50 µg/ml.
